Inspired by the book of Matthew, Jesus refers to God as the Lord of the Harvest. The design of the wheat on this cross is inspired by Jesus’ parable latter in the chapter when he describes the Kingdom of Heaven. The harvest is a recurring theme throughout the bible that illustrates Salvation, Blessings and Spiritual Growth.

The scroll at the top of the cross represents Time and Life unfolding.  Being inside the coils hides the beginning from the end, just as the past and the future is hidden to us.  The branch running across the scroll is the Creator of the Tree of Life and of Time.  He is the Master Gardener, who plants with a loving purpose.  We trust that He is unfolding and revealing His plan with Love and Good Purpose, even when we cannot understand His plan, that is hidden by the Time and the Coils of our Life.
